Jose V Yap Sports & Recreational Complex (TRP)’s site was a rocky terrain spanning 78 hectares. The perfect site for the proposed Tarlac Sports and Recreational Park was named after the late Gov. Jose V. Yap. It was the late GOVERNOR’S vision to have an international standard sports facility in Tarlac Province. The design of the complex was the brainchild of Gov. Victor A. Yap The Son Of the late Governor.
After several months of intense designing and building, the realization of the Governor’s dream came true. The Sports Complex was finished and ready for use and became the perfect venue for the Philippines’ biggest sporting events like The Central Luzon Regional Athletic Meet (CLRAA) in 2009. Tarlac successfully hosted the Palarong Pambansa 2010 games with amazing reviews, holding over 30,000 visitors, with 20,000 plus athletes where 654 of them came from Tarlac Provincial Team.
The Tarlac Recreational & Sports Complex has a track & field oval of international standards, with a biking track, two football fields, two baseball fields, two soft ball fields, two basketball courts, a volleyball court and a sepak takraw court. Many new activities are upcoming soon.
